NY AG Declares Trump Association Inquiry Is Now Officially A Criminal Investigation

Since AG Letitia James’s official announcement of changing the investigation procedure, it has been revealed that New York Attorney General’s inquiry into the Trump Organization “is no longer purely civil in nature”.

In 2019, NY AG’s office started a civil investigation into the Trump Organization in the allegations of civil tax offenses. Now the level of investigation has become more serious from civil to criminal.

A representative of the AG office, Fabien Levy said, “We have informed the Trump Organization that our investigation into the Organization is no longer purely civil. We are now actively investigating the Trump Organization in a criminal capacity, along with the Manhattan DA.”

It explains that for James’ criminal investigation AG’s office will be working with Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance who is now involved in a deep inquiry into Ex-President Donald Trump. Since 2018, Vance has been investigating Trump for criminal tax fraud along with his team.

Therefore, no shreds of evidence have been received that what made Attorney General’s office upgrade the investigation level against Trump, and why did he make the news public.
