Jane Moore Calls Out Barry McGuigan in Explosive I’m A Celeb Clash

Drama continues to brew on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! 2024, as a shake-up in camp leadership led to a heated exchange between Loose Women star Jane Moore and new camp leader Barry McGuigan.

At the start of the series, Coronation Street actor Alan Halsall and N-Dubz singer Tulisa Contostavlos were in charge, assigning roles to campmates and enjoying the comforts of the luxury lodge. However, their reign ended after a public vote handed leadership to pop star Danny Jones and champion boxer Barry McGuigan, according to the Metro.co.uk.

The new leaders quickly set about assigning chores, but their choices sparked controversy. Jane Moore, along with Tulisa, was given washing-up duty, while Coleen Rooney and Maura Higgins were tasked with camp maintenance, and Oti Mabuse and Reverend Richard Coles became chefs.

Jane, 62, was unimpressed, claiming she specifically told Danny she didn’t want to clean. “For washing up, we’ve chosen Jane and Tulisa,” Barry, 63, announced, to which Jane retorted, “Oh, what? Is that because we’re women?”

Barry denied the accusation, explaining that they considered Jane for water collection but decided against it due to her age. “I’m thinking, you’re 62 years old, a year younger than me…” he began, only for Jane to interrupt, “Ageist and s*xist!” The comment left campmates burying their heads in embarrassment, reported by the Bolton News.

Danny attempted to clear up the misunderstanding, claiming he thought Jane said she wanted to clean. However, Jane remained unconvinced, quipping, “Seems much like the 1950s,” while washing dishes later.

Barry defended himself, branding her accusation “bulls**t,” but confided to Danny during dinner that he felt unsettled. Despite Jane’s insistence that she was joking, Barry didn’t believe her, and tensions lingered.

In the Bush Telegraph, Danny admitted he and Barry felt the weight of leadership. “I feel like we’ve upset [the campmates] in some way and we didn’t mean to do that,” he said.

Viewers were quick to weigh in on social media, with many siding with Barry. “Jane… let’s not overuse and abuse the word sexist,” one viewer commented, while another lamented, “Barry was so happy to be camp leader, and Jane has completely killed his mood.”

The fallout marks the second major clash in just two days, following radio DJ Dean McCullough’s spat with soap icon Alan Halsall. With emotions running high, it seems this year’s I’m A Celeb is shaping up to be as explosive as ever.
