Nikki Glaser roasts DiCaprio, the Epstein Files, and Hollywood’s elite at the 2026 Golden Globes

The Golden Globe Awards 2026 are officially taking place in Los Angeles, and the evening is already emerging as one of the most notable in recent years. With comedian Nikki Glaser resuming her role as presenter, the ceremony commenced with a confident, brisk tempo that seamlessly combined incisive humor with keen commentary on Hollywood culture.

Glaser didn’t spend any time getting into contentious topics. “Let’s get down to business,” she said at the start of her monologue, making a sharp joke about Warner Bros. that set the tone for the rest of the night. We’ll begin the auction for Warner Bros. At $5. Do I hear five bucks? People in the room and on social media reacted strongly to the phrase, which showed that Glaser wasn’t going to hold back.

She also turned her attention to Leonardo DiCaprio, giving one of the most talked-about roasts of the night. “What a career you’ve had, with so many famous performances. You’ve worked with all the best directors and won three Golden Globes and an Oscar. The most amazing thing is that you were able to do all of this before your girlfriend reached 30.”

Glaser later doubled down with a mock apology, adding, “Leo, I’m sorry I made that joke. It is cheap. I tried not to, but, like, we don’t know anything else about you, man. There’s nothing else. Open up! I’m serious! I looked! I searched! The most in-depth interview you’ve ever given was for Teen Beat magazine in 1991. Is your favourite food still ‘Pasta, pasta and more pasta?’”

One of the most striking moments of the night came when Glaser addressed the Epstein Files and media coverage around them. “So many A-listers — and by A-listers, I mean people who are on ‘A list’ that has been heavily redacted. The Golden Globe for Best Editing goes to… the Justice Department! Yes, congratulations. And the award for most editing goes to CBS News. Yes. CBS News: America’s newest place to ‘See B.S. News.’” Her jokes also touched on figures like Georgy Clooney, Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, and Sean Penn, ensuring that few high-profile attendees escaped unscathed.

Beyond the humor, the ceremony also delivered major career moments. Timothee Chalamet earned his first Golden Globe win for Best Actor, Musical or Comedy for his performance in Marty Supreme, marking a milestone in his already impressive career. Another historic moment came when Adolescence star Owen Cooper became the youngest winner ever for Best Supporting Actor in a TV series.

The night also celebrated a diverse range of talent, with wins for Teyana Taylor for One Battle After Another, Stellan Skarsgard for Sentimental Value, and Seth Rogen for The Studio, among others. With sharp comedy, emotional triumphs, and record-breaking achievements, the Golden Globes 2026 are already proving to be a ceremony that will be remembered long after the final award is presented.
