Chris McCausland Drops ‘Breaking News’ Bombshell, Leaving Strictly Bosses in a Frenzy

After another successful week on Strictly Come Dancing, comedian Chris McCausland has thrilled fans with a surprise announcement on social media. Taking to his Instagram on Monday, the Liverpool-born comic shared what he called “breaking news,” revealing an impressive extension to his stand-up tour across the UK.

McCausland, who’s won the hearts of Strictly fans with his charm and humor, announced 100 additional dates for his “Yonks!” tour, set to kick off in January and run all the way through March 2026. Ticket prices range from £25 to £35, and the tour will feature stops at major comedy venues nationwide.

This tour expansion marks the comedian’s largest yet, adding to a stand-up career that began back in 2003. Known for performing at iconic venues like London’s Apollo Theatre, The Comedy Store, and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, McCausland has built a dedicated following and received the Creative Diversity Award for Comedy. His popularity only continues to soar, with fans eager for more opportunities to see him live.

The comedian hinted on his website that the tour could expand even further, citing “phenomenal demand” from fans as a driver for the additional dates. Many of the original dates for “Yonks!” had already sold out, and the newly added shows now provide fans a second chance to grab tickets to see McCausland in action, told GB News.

While McCausland’s comedy career is flourishing, his participation in Strictly Come Dancing has added a new layer of excitement and complexity to his schedule. His involvement in Strictly has earned him even more fans, but it also presents logistical challenges for the show’s producers, who were eager to include him in the annual Strictly live tour. With the extra comedy dates, however, Strictly bosses are reportedly facing a scheduling dilemma as McCausland’s tour clashes with key dates for the Strictly tour.

A source revealed to The Mirror, “Craig has suggested that all this year’s favorites will be there, but that’s not true. How can Chris be in two places at once? As things stand, Chris can’t do it because every show on his comedy tour from January 17 clashes.”

Despite the clash, McCausland’s focus remains firmly on bringing his comedy to audiences around the UK. The extension of his tour has been met with enthusiasm from fans, many of whom were initially unable to secure tickets due to high demand.

Adding 100 new dates, rather than reducing his tour commitments, seems to cement McCausland’s focus on his stand-up career, even as he takes on the Strictly dance floor. Fans of both the comedian and the show are likely to be delighted by his success on both fronts, though his decision might come as a disappointment to Strictly producers hoping to add him to the live tour lineup.

For now, McCausland’s followers have plenty of chances to catch him on stage, while Strictly fans continue to cheer him on in the ballroom. Whether he’s cracking jokes or trying out new dance moves, it’s clear that McCausland’s appeal is only growing.
