Prince George’s Moment: Wake-Up Call for Harry and Meghan Confirmed Early Fears says royal author

According to royal author Andrew Morton, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had contemplated stepping back from royal duties much earlier than publicly known, with a pivotal moment reportedly sealing their decision.

Morton claims that a cherished photo of Prince George alongside his father, grandfather, and great-grandmother acted as a poignant wake-up call for the couple, solidifying their belief that the Royal Family was working against them.

The image, released in early 2020, showcased the future of the monarchy but allegedly deepened Harry and Meghan’s suspicions of conspiracy within the institution. Morton suggests that this suspicion was further fueled by the postponement of a crucial meeting between Harry and the Queen, where he intended to discuss his royal future.

In Morton’s book, “Meghan: A Hollywood Princess,” he delves into the couple’s early contemplations of departure, revealing discussions dating back to just six months after their wedding. He points to Harry’s role as Youth Ambassador as the Queen’s way of signaling their future responsibilities.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex eventually announced their decision to step back from senior royal duties in January 2020, citing a desire for a progressive new role within the institution while aiming for financial independence.

Despite their intentions, Buckingham Palace stated that discussions with the couple were still in early stages, acknowledging the complexity of the situation. The couple’s subsequent journey has drawn widespread attention, sparking ongoing discussions about the modernization of the monarchy.
