Wynne Evans Reflects on Emotional Strictly Journey After Shocking Exit

Opera star Wynne Evans and his dance partner Katya Jones were eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing on Sunday, November 17. They landed in the bottom two alongside Gladiators star Montell Douglas and Johannes Radebe after the public vote. The judges ultimately chose to save Montell and Johannes, ending Wynne and Katya’s journey on the show, reports Wales Online.

After the results were revealed, Wynne shared his gratitude in a heartfelt Instagram post, thanking fans and his dance partner. “Thank you so much to everyone that has tuned in and supported me over the past 9 weeks. This has been a fantastic experience, and I couldn’t have done any of it without @katyajones,” he wrote. Wynne also extended his appreciation to the Strictly team and his family, who supported him throughout the competition. “Good luck to everyone still in the competition, I’ll be cheering you on from my sofa next Saturday!” he added.

Co-host Tess Daly responded warmly, commenting, “You’ll be missed!” alongside heart emojis. Wynne’s post was also met with an outpouring of support from fellow contestants and celebrities. EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick wrote, “Love you,” while Tasha Ghouri said, “Going to miss you. Had the best laughs and chats with you—should be so proud of yourself.” Head judge Shirley Ballas praised Wynne as a “gentleman” who will be missed, and opera singer Katherine Jenkins commended him for making Wales proud.

In a video shared with fans, Wynne reflected on his experience and praised Katya for her guidance. “It’s been brilliant. I never dreamt I’d get to Blackpool,” he said. “Thanks to Katya for being such a superb partner, pushing me to my absolute limits… It’s been utterly brilliant, and she has been fantastic.”

Wynne also expressed gratitude to his family and supporters, adding, “Strictly is a beautiful thing, something we’ve got to look after so we can continue to enjoy it with our families for years to come.” He ended his message on a cheerful note, promising, “I won’t be hiding for long, that’s for sure.”

Despite his departure, Wynne remains a fan of the show and plans to cheer on his fellow contestants from home. His Strictly journey may have ended, but his enthusiasm for the experience continues to resonate with fans.
