Prince William Provides Update on Kate Middleton’s Cancer Battle: ‘She’d Have Loved to Be Here Today’

Prince William has shared a heartfelt update on Kate Middleton’s health as she continues her private battle with cancer. During the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings in Portsmouth, the Duke of Cambridge spoke about how his wife is faring in her treatment, as reported by People.

While visiting veterans at the commemoration event, William revealed that Kate is making progress. “She’d have loved to be here today,” he said, underscoring her absence and her connection to the historic event through her grandmother.

“I was reminding everyone her grandmother served at Bletchley Park,” William continued in a video shared on X (formerly known as Twitter) on June 5. “So, she had quite a few in common with some of the ladies here who were at Bletchley.” Kate’s paternal grandmother, Valerie Glassborrow, worked at the renowned World War II spy base, where Alan Turing famously cracked the Enigma code used by the Nazis.

As Kate focuses on her recovery, William has been attending events solo. He and Kate share three children: Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6. Kate will be notably absent from the Colonel’s Review ahead of the Trooping the Colour Ceremony on June 8.

“This year General James Bucknall K.C.B., C.V.O will carry out the role of Inspecting Officer,” a Kensington Palace spokesperson told NBC News on May 30, “on behalf of HRH The Princess of Wales at Colonel’s Review as she continues her recovery.”

Despite her decision to battle the disease privately, William assured the public that Kate and their children are staying positive. “All doing well, thank you,” he shared with The Daily Mail in April. “We’re all doing well.”

Kate has also expressed her gratitude for William’s support during this challenging time. Since stepping back from her royal duties in March, she has relied on him greatly. “It has been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family,” Kate said in a video message. “Having William by my side is a great source of comfort and reassurance.”

As Kate continues her health journey away from the public eye, the royal family remains supportive and united. William’s updates provide a glimpse into their private struggle, highlighting the strength and resilience of both Kate and the family.
