Prince William & Kate Middleton’s Exciting Announcement–Congrats!

Prince William and Kate Middleton have a lot to celebrate. The Duchess of Cambridge was just given a new responsibility from the Queen, and her husband was given the privilege of announcing the news.

Speaking in a shipyard area in Glasgow, Scotland, Prince William shared that Kate will be associated with the HMS Glasgow, an honor that he said would have made his grandfather Prince Philip “fascinated and very excited.”

“Today, I’m very pleased to announce that my family’s connection with Type 26 will endure for many years to come,” Prince William said. “Her Majesty the Queen has approved the appointment of my wife Catherine as Sponsor of the superb ship we see taking shape outside — HMS Glasgow. I know that Catherine will be delighted to join you here in Glasgow for the naming ceremony in due course.”
