Those Lips, That Face: Trump’s Compliment to Karoline Leavitt Stirs Controversy
U.S. President Donald Trump recently praised his White House Press Secretary, Karoline Leavitt, in an interview, making comments about her physical appearance that quickly went viral. “She’s become a star,” Trump said, reflecting on Leavitt’s performance. “It’s that face. It’s that brain. It’s those lips, the way they move. They move like she’s a machine gun.”
He continued his compliment, saying, “She’s a star. She’s a great person. But she’s – I don’t think anybody has ever had a better press secretary than Karoline. She’s been amazing.”
The remarks sparked a wave of reactions online, with many users criticizing the comments. A user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote, “Big Monica Lewinsky vibes,” referring to the infamous scandal of the 1990s involving former President Bill Clinton and then-White House intern Monica Lewinsky.
Another comment read, “Trump has probably used this same line on more than one occasion to attract underage girls for sexual gratification at his beauty pageants, the Mar-a-Lago Club spa, on Jeffrey Epstein’s jet, etc…”

One user remarked, “He’s a creepy old man. He doesn’t even understand what he just said. Major yikes.” Further responses questioned Trump’s past connections to Jeffrey Epstein, with one person writing, “And people still doubt he’s in those Epstein files.”

Karoline Leavitt, 27, serves as Trump’s fifth press secretary and is the first to hold the position during his second term in office. Her recent comments in a Thursday White House press briefing had praised Trump for his foreign policy achievements.
“President Trump has brokered, on average, about one peace deal or ceasefire per month during his six months in office,” Leavitt stated. “It’s well past time that President Trump was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.”

Trump’s past ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein have been a subject of controversy throughout his presidency. Recent public interest has surged after the FBI and the Department of Justice chose not to release additional Epstein-related documents, despite public pressure. Reports indicate that Trump’s name was redacted from certain publications related to Epstein.
In response, Trump defended the government’s decision, denying any attempt to suppress information. He also reiterated his dissociation from Epstein, claiming he distanced himself years ago after Epstein allegedly attempted to “poach” Mar-a-Lago staff, including Virginia Giuffre, a prominent accuser of Epstein.
