GB News Star Stephen Dixon Breaks Silence on Hosting Shakeup After Axing Sparks Outpouring of Support
Stephen Dixon, the popular breakfast presenter on GB News, has shared an update with his followers as he enjoys a brief holiday over the festive period. Dixon, who took time off during Christmas and Boxing Day, confirmed he would be returning to his hosting duties next week.
He posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, saying: “Enjoying a few more days off, and lie in, then back to work on Tuesday for the last Breakfast Show of the year!”
His post received an outpouring of support from both colleagues and fans. Broadcaster Paula London responded simply with: “Enjoy!” while British Outback Cop, GB News’ regular police commentator, wrote: “Have a lovely new year, Stephen to you and yours from all of mine. Look forward to our next policing segment together. Best wishes, Oli”, reported by the Express.
Dixon’s return to screens comes after Isabel Webster, who had been hosting the breakfast show, was replaced by Ellie Costello. Ellie will now co-host with Eamonn Holmes from Monday to Wednesday, with Stephen taking over from Eamonn later in the week. The schedule changes are set to take effect in early January.
Although former Sky News presenter Isabel has yet to comment on the change, Eamonn Holmes bid his co-host farewell with a sweet message on social media. He replied to a post about Isabel’s departure with: “Goodbye my girl.”
As for fans of the show, many took to the post to share their excitement about Stephen’s return. One fan wrote: “Enjoy. I hope on Tuesday you are with Ellie for a last breakfast show of 2024 to bring smiles and happiness to all who watch it with your great chemistry.” Another viewer commented: “Glad you had a lovely break, we’ve loyally stuck with GB Breakfast without you, all be it hard work… Happy New Year Guys, 2025.”
Stephen’s update came shortly after the GB News team made changes to its presenting lineup, bidding goodbye to Mark Dolan and Isabel Webster. Fans are eager to see how the new lineup will shape up in the coming year.
