Why Selena Gomez’s Recent Bikini Photo Has The Internet Buzzing

Everyone is praising Selena Gomez for posting unedited photos of herself wearing a pal’s swim line! The “Lose You To Love Me” singer has modeled in skimpy bikinis for La’Mariette (her close friend Theresa Mingus’ line) on her social media, even showing off her kidney transplant scar for the first time, but this time is *even more* special.

Not only is the new drop a collaboration between the Rare Beauty founder and the brand (congrats!), but the photoshoot images were posted in their original form, aka no slimming, smoothing, or squeezing Selena’s curves down, on social media. This is huge!

Posting the un-retouched images to her Instagram account, Gomez immediately received praise from fans for not having Photoshopped her images into oblivion (like other stars, ahem).

“Seeing Selena Gomez’s stomach & body WITHOUT PHOTOSHOP is [fire emoji]” wrote one user. “I’m a fan of your truth and courage to be who you are,” wrote another. Amen!

Celebrity bloggers joined in on the praise. “This is how I wish I felt right now,” Perez Hilton founder Mario Lavandeira wrote on a July 7th Instagram post:

According to the press release, the capsule collection “is all about inclusivity, body positivity and celebrating the fact that all bodies are beautiful.” We love to see it!

You can shop for the 6-piece swimwear collection, which ranges in price from $49 for bikini bottoms to $119 for the underwire ‘Gracie’ one-piece Selena is seen wearing in the campaign, on the La’Mariette website.

Selena herself gushed in an Instagram post to her 224M followers on July 4th: “What I love about this brand is that it celebrates women who who love their bodies unconditionally giving themselves the grace they deserve.” Snaps, Selena and La’Mariette!
