Prince Harry awaits a judge’s decision on his legal action against the Home Office

Prince Harry, who was not physically present at the Royal Courts of Justice, is awaiting the outcome of his legal challenge against the UK’s Home Office. The case concluded after a two-and-a-half-day hearing, with the verdict to be delivered by Justice Lane at a later date.

During the final day of the hearing, a statement from Prince Harry was read. He is contesting the decision made in February 2020 by the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (Ravec) to modify his publicly funded security arrangements.

He argues that this change was both ‘unlawful and unfair.’ Justice Lane’s decision on the matter is pending, reported Evening Standard. The proceedings were largely conducted in private, excluding public and media access, due to the sensitive nature of the evidence related to security matters.

The UK is my home. The UK is central to the heritage of my children and a place where I want them to feel at home as much as where they live at the moment in the US. That cannot happen if it’s not possible to keep them safe when they are on UK soil (DUKE OF SUSSEX)

Harry, who moved to Montecito with his family after stepping back from his senior royal duties in January 2020, has expressed concerns about the safety of his family in the UK. According to his lawyer, Harry stated in his witness testimony, “The UK is my home and is central to the heritage of my children.

I want them to feel at home there as they do in the US. However, this is not possible if we cannot ensure their safety on UK soil.” He further emphasized his reluctance to expose his wife and himself to potential harm, given his past experiences, and stressed the importance of safety for his family during their time in the UK.
