Patrick McDowell Takes Up Sustainability Creative Director Role at Pinko

Patrick McDowell, a London-based designer, has announced his new role as sustainability creative director at the Italian womenswear brand Pinko. This appointment marks a significant step in McDowell’s ongoing relationship with Pinko, where he previously served as sustainability design director since December 2020.

In a LinkedIn post, McDowell shared his excitement about the new position, which expands his responsibilities within the company. “I’ve continued my journey with Pinko. Gaining invaluable experience in big business and implementing sustainable design lead product to a network of hundreds of stores globally,” he wrote. McDowell expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to create bespoke pieces for his own brand while addressing sustainability on a larger scale with Pinko.

During his tenure as sustainability design director, McDowell focused on directing sustainable design initiatives, developing collaborations, and launching a scholarship program at Pinko. His new role as sustainability creative director will involve working across main collections and collaboration collections to “implement a new design vision and sustainable circular practice.”

McDowell emphasized the significance of his expanded role, stating that it allows him to integrate sustainable practices into Pinko’s broader design strategy. This change reflects Pinko’s commitment to sustainability and its recognition of McDowell’s expertise in this area.

In addition to his responsibilities at Pinko, McDowell will continue to work on his own eponymous brand, particularly in the lead-up to London Fashion Week SS25, where he is set to participate in the official schedule. This dual focus highlights his dedication to both his personal brand and his mission to promote sustainability in the fashion industry.

McDowell’s appointment as sustainability creative director at Pinko represents a significant development in his career and a strategic move for the brand. His experience and passion for sustainable fashion are expected to drive innovative practices and elevate Pinko’s commitment to environmental responsibility.
