Miranda Lambert Just Dropped This MAJOR Bombshell About Her Marriage To Blake Shelton

Miranda Lambert is recalling a “special moment” she shared with ex-husband Blake Shelton. During an episode of Essentials Radio on Apple Music, Lambert opened up about the experience of writing a song with Shelton. The song, “Over You,” was inspired by Shelton losing his brother, Richie, in a car accident in 1990.

Lambert explained, “My ex-husband, Blake, had lost a brother and it’s one of those moments where even if you’re married to someone, sometimes you find something new about them.”

“Dudes don’t open up about things but he started telling me about the experience of it all,” she continued. “And I was like, ‘Have you ever written about it?'”

At the time, Shelton’s response was no. Apparently, his father had told him, “‘You don’t get over it. You just get used to it.'”

Although Lambert did not want to pry or offend him, she offered to write the song together. “And I was like, ‘Well, could we write it? Do you want to try or is that invasive?'” she explained.

She told her then-husband,”I would never try to write your story because I didn’t live it, but maybe I could help because I’m an outside perspective but I feel your pain talking to me right now.”

The song ended up winning the CMA Award for Song of the Year in 2012. But that isn’t what Lambert remembers most. “It was really a special moment and I’m so glad we shared that song and that it helped his family heal, to have that together,” she said.

Fans had mixed reactions to the story. One commented, “It’s OK to end a relationship and still talk about the past and memories with nothing but love and forgiveness and still be moved on in life.”

However, another did not take Lambert’s comments so well. “If she’s so happy with her husband why bring it up. We know Blake is definitely very happy in his [relationship] so good for him,” they wrote.
