Meghan Markle’s Resentment Over Prince Andrew’s Royal Status Exposed

Meghan Markle’s ongoing discontent with the Royal Family has surfaced again, this time focusing on Prince Andrew’s continued inclusion despite significant public controversies. The Duchess of Sussex has expressed astonishment that despite their withdrawal from senior royal duties, Prince Andrew has not faced similar ostracism following serious allegations against him, via Express.

Royal author Tom Quinn provided insights in an exclusive conversation with The Mirror, revealing Meghan’s perspective on the disparity in treatment between her family and Prince Andrew. “The fact that Prince Andrew has not been completely ostracised is another deep source of grievance for Meghan – she’s been pushed out so why not Andrew, who has behaved appallingly? Meghan has a point but what she doesn’t see is that for all his faults Andrew has at least done what the royal family told him to do: Andrew was told to say nothing after his disgrace and he continues to say nothing,” explained Quinn.

Prince Andrew’s troubles stem from accusations made by Virginia Giuffre, who claimed she was sexually assaulted by him three times when she was 17. Giuffre alleged she was trafficked by Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender and a friend of Andrew, and was coerced into having sex with some of Epstein’s associates, including the Duke of York. Andrew has strongly denied these allegations.

The legal entanglements reached a climax when a New York judge declared in January 2022 that the Queen’s son would face trial over these accusations. In response, Buckingham Palace announced that Andrew would be stripped of his royal titles. Subsequently, in February 2022, Andrew settled the civil sexual assault case brought against him by Giuffre for a reported £12 million, with the settlement explicitly containing no admission of liability or wrongdoing.

Meghan and Prince Harry’s relationship with the Royal Family has been strained, marked by their decision to step down as senior royals and relocate abroad. The couple has been vocal about their grievances with the Royal Family, including allegations of mistreatment and lack of support. Meghan has claimed that she was made to cry by the Princess of Wales just days before her wedding and felt silenced by the institution. Harry, in his memoir “Spare,” disclosed a physical altercation with his brother Prince William, who allegedly criticized Meghan harshly.

This latest expression of dissatisfaction from Meghan highlights the complex dynamics and ongoing tensions within the Royal Family, underscoring the different standards applied to different members.
