Expert Claims Meghan Markle’s Diva Attitude and Clipped Wings Contributed to Missed Royal Opportunity

Buckingham Palace has come under scrutiny for not fully appreciating the positive impact Meghan Markle could have had on the Royal Family and for failing to protect her during her early years as a royal, according to royal commentator Jennie Bond.

Bond, addressing the missed opportunities following “Megxit,” expressed her views in an interview with GB News. She emphasized that Meghan could have been a great asset to the monarchy, given her background and unique qualities. “Meghan could have been such a credit to the Royal Family—she is an independent, forthright woman with her own career, her own thoughts, her own charities and causes,” Bond explained.

The commentator went on to describe how Meghan’s independent spirit could have aligned with the Royal Family’s modernization efforts. “She could have been exactly what a modern monarchy needs,” Bond said, but acknowledged that Buckingham Palace may not have handled the situation as carefully as they should have. “I think the monarchy didn’t act as carefully as they should have done,” she noted, highlighting what she sees as a missed opportunity.

However, Bond also pointed out that Meghan’s strong-willed personality may have contributed to the tensions. “Meghan is by all accounts a bit of a diva,” she added, explaining that “she didn’t like what she saw, and she didn’t like her wings being clipped.”

For those familiar with royal dynamics, Meghan’s early experiences with public and media scrutiny are not unprecedented. Kate Middleton faced similar intense attention early in her relationship with Prince William, enduring a media frenzy that continued well into their marriage. Over time, Kate’s public image improved, with a recent YouGov poll from April showing over 76% of Brits holding positive views of her, even surpassing her husband, Prince William, who garnered 73% approval.

In contrast, around 15% of the public view Kate negatively, which is still lower than Prince William’s 21% disapproval rate. This shift in perception demonstrates how royal figures, even those initially scrutinized, can eventually win over the public with time and patience.

The discussion around Meghan Markle underscores the complexities of integrating new members into the royal fold, as well as the missed potential that some commentators believe Buckingham Palace failed to capitalize on.
