Meghan’s New Netflix Show Sparks Royal Drama as Prince Harry Disagrees on Kids’ Involvement
0Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are reportedly facing a disagreement over the inclusion of their children in Meghan’s upcoming Netflix show, as part of her new lifestyle brand initiative. The Duchess of Sussex, who launched American Riviera Orchard in March, surprised her followers with a brand that encompasses a wide array of products ranging from homewares like crockery and table linen to gourmet food items such as nut butter, jams, and oils.
As Meghan expands her business endeavors into the streaming world with a cookery show on Netflix, the couple is now reportedly grappling with decisions about their family’s privacy. The show is expected to promote products from her lifestyle brand, but the question of whether their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, should appear on the show has become a contentious issue between the couple.
According to sources cited by OK! magazine, Meghan is keen on the idea of including their children in the show, possibly drawing inspiration from her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton. Kate often features her children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, at public events, showcasing a family-oriented approach that resonates with the public.
“She would love for Archie and Lilibet to make guest appearances on her new show as being a mum is a huge part of her life and wants to show off that part of her world, just like Kate does occasionally when she takes her children to work events,” the insider shared.
“She totally gets where Harry is coming from because he has been so traumatized by things that went on during his childhood and she admires him for wanting to protect the kids and she will always support him,” they explained, adding that Meghan was trying to “convince him that being in the spotlight isn’t all bad and feels he shouldn’t judge everything by his past and what he went through.”
While she recognizes that Archie and Lilibet are “in a completely different situation” because of who their parents are, the source claims Meghan wants to show Harry that they can involve their children in their projects because they are “never going to be anonymous.” They added: “Meghan is hoping Harry will get on board with her plans soon.”
However, Prince Harry reportedly harbors reservations about exposing their young children to the limelight. His apprehension is rooted in his personal experiences with the media and the intrusive press coverage that affected his late mother, Princess Diana, as well as his own life. Harry’s stance is that of caution, preferring to shield his children from the type of media scrutiny he has long critiqued.
The disagreement highlights the ongoing struggle faced by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex as they navigate life under public scrutiny while attempting to forge a path that respects their privacy and autonomy. This challenge is particularly pronounced given their high-profile departure from the UK and royal duties, which was partly motivated by a desire to manage their media representation and public engagement on their own terms.
