Lorraine Kelly’s Daughter Slams Her with Brutal Warning After TV Blunders
0Lorraine Kelly has opened up about some of the “mistakes” she’s made throughout her extensive career, sharing that it was her daughter Rosie who inspired a change in her style.
In a candid chat on the SheerLuxe YouTube channel, Lorraine, 64, reflected on her fashion choices, admitting to some cringeworthy moments. When host Jo Good asked if there had been any “mistakes” in Lorraine’s long career, the presenter was quick to respond with a laugh. “How long have you got for the mistakes that were made?” she joked.
The TV icon recalled one particularly bold fashion choice from the ’80s that she believes may have caused some lasting eye damage. “Back in the ’80s, we had a boss at TV-am who was all for color,” Lorraine explained. “I wore a jacket with one lime green sleeve, one lemon sleeve, and all the colors of the rainbow, including pink, red, and purple, all in this one jacket.”
Lorraine even recalled interviewing actor Liam Neeson while wearing the eye-catching jacket. “It was horrific, and I remember I interviewed Liam Neeson wearing that jacket a, nd the poor man, his retinas were sore looking at me,” she laughed. “But yeah, no, I’ve got many, many a mistake.”
However, Lorraine revealed that her fashion missteps were a part of her growth, adding that up until she was 55, she felt like she was “getting it wrong more than I was getting it right.” It was only when her daughter Rosie became more vocal about her style that Lorraine made a concerted effort to step up her fashion game, told WalesOnline.
“I think it was my daughter getting a bit older and going, you know, ‘Yikes, Mum, step away from that. That’s really not good,'” Lorraine shared. “And her giving me good ideas,” she added, acknowledging the impact Rosie had on her more refined style in recent years.
This year, Lorraine was honored with the BAFTA Special Award for her remarkable career in television, which includes her long-standing role on Good Morning Britain, GMTV, and her own Lorraine show. Alongside her professional success, Lorraine also embraced a new personal role this year — becoming a grandmother to her daughter’s baby girl, Billie. Speaking about her new role, she said, “It’s fantastic… I’m going there this afternoon to make sure Rosie gets a wee sleep and Steve, her partner, has a wee walk out in the fresh air.”
For Lorraine, 2024 has been a year of both reflection and new beginnings, and it’s clear her family, including her daughter and granddaughter, are a big part of her joy.
