Fighting back tears, Lorraine paused the show to offer a heartfelt tribute to her fellow Scot, expressing her sorrow over the sad news. “She is such a brave, funny, and incredible woman,” Lorraine said, visibly emotional, told The Mirror.

Janey took to social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, to share her update with followers. She wrote: “I’m now at end-of-life care—palliative care—and will be going into a hospice for the foreseeable future. Thanks to everyone who sends me love and support—you’ve been amazing.”

In her video, Janey praised the NHS staff who had been caring for her and expressed gratitude to her friends and family for their unwavering support. Facing the reality of her situation, she spoke bravely, saying, “It is devastating news to know that I’m facing the end of life, but we all come to an end sometime. I don’t know how long I’ve got left before anybody asks. I’m not a TikTok, so I just want you all to know that I appreciate all the love you’ve given me.”

As she concluded her message, Janey signed off with her trademark humor and warmth. “I hope yous all have a lovely Christmas. I might be here, who knows? But I just want you to know I’m sending all my love to people living with a life-limiting disease.”

The comedian’s honesty and grace in the face of such difficult news have deeply resonated with her fans. Her courage in sharing her journey has been both heartbreaking and inspiring, and the love and admiration for her continue to pour in.
