Kerry Katona’s Surprising Rules for Daughter Heidi’s 18th Birthday Revealed

Kerry Katona is approaching a significant milestone in her family life as her daughter Heidi prepares to celebrate her 18th birthday next month. The former Atomic Kitten star has openly discussed the boundaries she is establishing for Heidi as she transitions into adulthood, emphasizing the importance of independence and personal responsibility.

Heidi, Kerry’s third child and her first with ex-husband Mark Croft is set to step into a new chapter of her life. Kerry also has two older daughters, Molly, 21, and Lilly-Sue, from her marriage to Brian McFadden, and an eight-year-old son, DJ, from her marriage with the late George Kay. Speaking exclusively to OK! Magazine, Kerry shared her heartfelt thoughts on Heidi’s upcoming milestone: “I can’t believe Heidi is going to be 18, it’s crazy.

I hope she’ll become more independent – I’m trying to make it clear that at 18 she needs to be making her own money and won’t be my responsibility.” The milestone is also a time for family reunions and celebrations. Kerry revealed that her eldest daughter, Lilly, recently made a surprise trip from Ireland to visit her. “Last week, Lilly surprised me by visiting from Ireland, which was amazing! I cried my eyes out; I really wasn’t expecting it,” Kerry said.

The emotional reunion included an early birthday meal for Lilly, who turns 22 this week but will return to Ireland for her special day. Thankfully, Lilly is scheduled to be back next month for Heidi’s big celebration, allowing the family to commemorate the occasion together, as reported by the Mirror.

Kerry has also been reflecting on her own future as her children grow older. She considered relocating closer to her friend Katie Price down South, where many of her friends and work commitments are based. However, with her children still at home, she has decided to remain in London for the time being. “I thought my kids would be flying the nest this year, but I think I’ll be staying here a while!” she joked, highlighting her commitment to her family.

As Heidi’s 18th birthday approaches, Kerry remains focused on helping her daughter prepare for the future. Heidi, a talented singer, previously appeared on The Voice Kids in 2020, impressing judges with her performances. Last year, Kerry shared that after Heidi completes her GCSEs, she plans to attend a performing arts school in Liverpool. “After Heidi finishes her GCSEs, she’s set to spread her wings and join a performing arts school in Liverpool,” Kerry revealed. “I’m not quite ready to say goodbye to my daughter Heidi, who will be moving to Liverpool to attend a performing arts school once she completes her GCSEs this summer.”

Throughout her nearly three-decade career as a model, presenter, and actress, Kerry has been a pillar of strength and devotion for her children. She has always been transparent about her love for her kids and her desire to see them thrive independently. “I’ve worked hard to provide them with everything they’ve needed. Now, though, I’m keen for Heidi to take charge of her life and start standing on her own two feet,” Kerry affirmed.

As Heidi steps into adulthood, Kerry Katona continues to balance her vibrant professional life with her dedication to her family, ensuring that her children are well-prepared for their futures while cherishing the moments they share together.
