Kelly Brook, 45, Reveals Life-Changing Decision on Kids After Gran’s Emotional Confession

Kelly Brook, the acclaimed actress and model, has revealed that a candid piece of advice from her maternal grandmother played a pivotal role in her decision to forgo having children. Celebrating her 45th birthday in November, Kelly is thriving in her jet-set lifestyle alongside her husband, Jeremy Parisi.

The couple, who tied the knot in 2022, relocated to London in 2023 after Kelly sold her 15th-century Kent country house—a property she had cherished since her early twenties. In an exclusive interview with the Mirror’s Notebook magazine, Kelly opened up about the heartfelt conversation that influenced her life choices.

“When I asked my grandma if she regretted anything in life, because that’s what you ask octogenarians, she said – very honestly – that her biggest regret was having children,” Kelly shared. This unexpected revelation came when Kelly was contemplating motherhood at the age of 36. “I wasn’t expecting it, but she definitely said it! I think she felt that having children had taken up a lot of her life. I thought, ‘What an absolutely honest, incredible answer,’ and I think I needed to hear it.”

Kelly continued, “Then I thought, ‘Actually, I don’t think I want them,’ and hearing that somebody had regrets and that I might not regret not having children, made me feel really happy about my choice.” This profound honesty from her grandmother provided Kelly the reassurance she needed to embrace a child-free life, affirming that being a woman without children does not equate to a life filled with regret.

“You can change most things in life, can’t you? You can change where you live, you can change your relationships, you can get divorced, you can move on, and things can change a lot. What doesn’t change is having children, because that’s the one constant thing — once you have children, you can’t change that,” Kelly explained. She contrasted motherhood with being a dog mum, highlighting the flexibility and lack of permanence that comes with not having children: “Once you’re a mother, you’re a mother for life. I’m a dog mum, but I’m going to be a dog mum for 15 years, so it’s not the same.”

Throughout her nearly 30-year career as a model, presenter, and actress, Kelly has been a beacon of honesty and positivity for many women. She has been open about maintaining her health and physique, serving as an ambassador for SlimFast since 2018. “I’m not trying to be anything other than I am,” she says. “I’m very outward looking and I’m not really that self-obsessed and narcissistic that I care a lot about how I look every day.”

Kelly’s move from a reclusive life in her Kent farmhouse to the bustling streets of London marks a significant chapter in her personal life. Gardening, which once served as her sanctuary and a way to cope with trauma, has evolved into a shared passion with her husband Jeremy. Together, they have restored a timber-framed Wealden farmhouse and embraced the vibrant London lifestyle.

The couple’s relationship, which began in 2015 and flourished on the set of Celebrity Race Across The World, has been a source of strength and joy for Kelly. Their shared adventures, including a three-part miniseries titled “Kelly And Jeremy: La Vita Italiana,” showcase their life together and their aspirations to introduce their farm’s produce to the UK market.

As Kelly prepares for this new chapter, she remains committed to living a fulfilling and regret-free life, supported by her loving husband and their delightful daughter, Minnie. “If I regret something, I’ll just go back and change it!” she asserts with a smile, embodying the confidence and clarity that have defined her remarkable journey.
