Ingenuity Appoints Alistair Crane as First Chairman to Fuel Expansion and Growth
0Ingenuity, the comprehensive commerce arm of THG plc, has announced the appointment of Alistair Crane, a seasoned entrepreneur in technology and payments, as its inaugural chairman. This strategic move aims to bolster Ingenuity’s ambitious growth trajectory, particularly in key markets like the United States.
Crane, who is currently at the helm of digital career coaching firm Bloom, officially joined THG on January 2. His appointment is poised to propel Ingenuity forward, especially as the company shifts its focus towards servicing more sophisticated, high-margin Enterprise clients—a pivot that began to take shape in 2023.
With a background that includes founding Grapple, a mobile app development company for brands later acquired by Monitise, and Hero, a social shopping platform snapped up by Klarna in 2021, Crane brings a wealth of experience in nurturing digital brands and driving the expansion of high-growth enterprises.
THG Plc’s CEO, Matt Moulding, expressed enthusiasm about Crane’s joining, highlighting his proven track record in digital brand building and business scaling as key assets that Ingenuity will leverage to deepen its penetration in core markets.
In his role as chairman, Crane will lend his expertise and network to support Ingenuity’s senior leadership, focusing on scaling the business in the U.S. market. Ingenuity offers a holistic commerce solution to brands, encompassing technology, marketing, and operations, and is set on widening its footprint in the U.S. while attracting more Enterprise partners across various sectors, including nutrition, wellness, beauty, retail, and food and beverage.
Crane shared his optimism about Ingenuity’s potential and its comprehensive offerings in digital marketing, technology, and operations, underscoring the significant growth opportunities that lie ahead. His vision is to help Ingenuity capture a larger market share and elevate the business to new heights.
