I’m A Celebrity Fans Furious Over Shock Double Exit and Immunity Twist

In a dramatic turn of events on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here, show hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly shocked the camp with a major announcement: a double exit after the immunity challenge altered the course of the competition.

During Thursday night’s episode (December 5), the iconic hosts made their first appearance in days, delivering news that rocked the jungle. The campmates had just completed the grueling Arcade of Agony challenge, which offered immunity to one celebrity, protecting them from the public vote and securing them a fast track pass to the Celebrity Cyclone challenge—usually reserved for the penultimate episode, reported by the Manchester Evening News.

Coleen Rooney and Danny Jones triumphed in the Grim Grabbers challenge, though Coleen needed medical attention after a cockroach crawled into her ear. Meanwhile, Oti Mabuse and Maura Higgins excelled in the Grimball challenge, setting up a head-to-head Battle Blocks contest. Oti came out victorious, earning immunity and the coveted Ticket to Cyclone, meaning she would remain safe from elimination in the coming episodes.

But as tensions rose, so did viewers’ frustrations. The unexpected twist, which granted immunity to certain contestants this late in the series, left many fans enraged. Social media quickly lit up with angry reactions, with viewers expressing their dismay at the decision to grant immunity at such a crucial stage.

The real shock came when Ant and Dec revealed the results of the latest public vote. Love Island star Maura Higgins and professional boxer Barry McGuigan were the two contestants with the fewest votes and were voted off the show in a double elimination.

Maura, 34, admitted she had a “gut feeling” she was leaving. Reflecting on her journey in the jungle, she said, “I really did embrace it. I didn’t think I would have embraced it as much as I have. I’m much stronger than I ever thought.”

Barry, 63, shared his bond with fellow campmate Danny Jones, calling him a “fatherly figure.” Danny, in turn, praised McGuigan as a “lovely, great guy” and predicted he would be crowned the King of the Jungle.

The shock exits stirred outrage among fans, with many vowing to stop watching the show. “@gillian.rushe said: ‘I’ve finished watching now she’s out,'” one viewer commented. Others shared similar sentiments, with @xLuciaSerrano writing, “Genuinely not watching I’m a celeb without Maura – WHAT THE F**K #ImaCeleb.”
