Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s U.K. House-Hunting Is Causing a ‘Divide’ — Report
0It looks like the U.K. might be getting royal neighbors! Reports from OK! The magazine suggests that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are contemplating purchasing a home near London. However, there seems to be some disagreement between the couple regarding this move.
Insiders have hinted at a slight divide on the matter, stating, “While Harry is quite keen on the idea, the couple hasn’t fully aligned on this yet. But searches for a property in the vicinity of London are imminent.”
Previously residing at Frogmore Cottage near Windsor Castle, the pair had to vacate post the release of ‘Spare‘. Despite stepping back from royal duties in March 2020, Frogmore Cottage remained their U.K. base. As for staying at Kensington Palace, sources say that the couple might occasionally use an apartment there, but purchasing a home in the U.K. will be on their own dime.
A significant factor in this decision appears to be their children, Archie (4) and Lili (2). Speculation about the kids’ schooling is rife, with no confirmation on where they’ll be educated. Royal commentator Duncan Larcombe emphasized the importance of the kids having a U.K. base.
He mentioned, “Without a base in the U.K., Harry’s kids risk missing out on family connections – from cousins to grandparents. The urgency is real, considering how quickly kids grow and the advancing age of Harry’s father.”
While Harry might be seen more in the U.K., especially with commitments like the Invictus Games, Meghan’s presence might be sporadic. Larcombe observed, “Meghan hasn’t shown a strong affinity for England, so her prolonged stays in the U.K. seem improbable, even with a new Sussex home.”
