Good Morning Britain Fans Rejoice as Susanna Reid Returns Following Family Emergency

Good Morning Britain star Susanna Reid made a triumphant return to the ITV show today, much to the delight of her viewers. The 53-year-old presenter had been absent from Tuesday’s show due to a family emergency, with Ranvir Singh stepping in to host alongside Ed Balls.

Ranvir informed viewers about Susanna’s unexpected absence, explaining, “One of her boys has been taken ill overnight, and she needed to stay with him, so we are here for you this morning.”

Thankfully, Susanna was back on air today, reassuring fans with her presence. She posted a behind-the-scenes photo on X (formerly known as Twitter) alongside her co-host, Ed Balls, captioned simply: “MORNING!” In the snap, Ed playfully raises his eyebrows, while Susanna smiles warmly at the camera.

Fans were quick to express their happiness at her return, flooding social media with supportive messages. According to The Mirror, one Twitter user commented, “What a double act. Keep it going,” while another said, “Good to see you back this morning Susanna, hope everything’s ok.”

Viewers praised her professionalism, with one remarking, “Susanna back on duty after yesterday’s family emergency – such a trooper!” Another fan chimed in with, “Hallelujah, hello Susanna my lady,” showing their excitement.

Susanna’s return comes after an extended summer break, during which she had informed viewers in July that she wouldn’t be back until September. In her absence, her role was filled by Kate Garraway, Charlotte Hawkins, and Ranvir Singh.

During her first day back, showbiz legend Jimmy Tarbuck left Susanna momentarily speechless with a cheeky revelation about his sons’ nickname for her. Trying to guide her to the answer, he hinted that it had a connection to her former co-host, but Susanna seemed puzzled. Tarbuck then quipped, “You’re him, in a wig. Piers Morgan in a wig.”

Initially unsure how to take the comment, Susanna responded with humor, “Oh ok, I’m glad you had to point out that it was a compliment because I’m not sure if it sounds like a compliment!” Fans are thrilled to see Susanna back at the helm of Good Morning Britain, bringing her trademark warmth and wit to the show after a brief but noticeable absence.
