Fernando Fernandez Ascends to CFO Role at Unilever Amidst Leadership Reshuffle

Unilever recently elevated Fernando Fernandez, the present head of their beauty & wellbeing division, to the chief financial officer position.

This decision comes in light of Graeme Pitkethly’s upcoming retirement. Fernandez’s new role will commence on January 1, 2024, and he will simultaneously join the Board.

Unilever’s CEO, Hein Schumacher, lauded “Fernando has had a very impressive track record throughout his Unilever career, in a variety of financial, marketing, and general management roles. His deep financial and business experience, strategic acumen, and leadership qualities will be critical in helping to drive the step-up in Unilever’s performance that we are all determined to deliver. I look forward to working with him to deliver the action plan we have set out today to drive our growth and realize our potential”.

Alongside Fernandez’s promotion, Unilever revealed additional leadership adjustments. Priya Nair will transition from chief marketing officer of beauty & wellbeing to its president, succeeding Fernandez.

In other shifts, Eduardo Campanella will move from chief marketing officer for home care to its president, while Esi Eggleston Bracey will take on the newly formed role of chief growth and marketing officer.
