Eamonn Holmes’ New Romance Influenced by Past with Ruth Langsford, Expert Suggests

Eamonn Holmes’ new relationship with Katie Alexander will likely be shaped by his experiences with his former partner, Ruth Langsford, according to relationship expert Jesper Jensen. Following his separation from Ruth earlier this year, Eamonn, the GB News presenter, began dating Katie, a mother of three and a relationship counsellor, according to the Express.

At 42, Katie is 22 years younger than Eamonn, who will celebrate his 65th birthday this December. Jensen, from ExpertsEnAmour, explained that while timing after a breakup may not always be crucial, entering a new relationship quickly can bring its own set of challenges. He commented, “When someone is emotionally ready, the timing may not matter as much as it seems.”

However, Jensen pointed out that “rebound” relationships often face distinct challenges and noted, “Eamonn’s experience with Ruth will shape his approach with his new partner”, via Manchester Evening News. He added that if Eamonn has genuinely learned from his previous marriage, it could provide a strong foundation for his new relationship, as long as both parties are willing to address any lingering emotional issues.

Eamonn and Ruth’s separation was made public in May after 14 years of marriage. A spokesperson for the couple issued a statement, saying, “Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.” Despite the split, both Eamonn and Ruth have continued wearing their wedding rings. When asked on Instagram why she still wears hers, Ruth simply responded, “Because I am still married.”

Ruth, known for her role on Loose Women, has remained relatively quiet about the separation, apart from the brief social media comment. Eamonn, meanwhile, expressed his gratitude to fans on GB News after the news broke. Ruth is believed to still reside in their family home in Surrey, while Eamonn has reportedly moved to an apartment in London, conveniently located near his studio.

Jensen suggested that there might be a chance for reconciliation between Eamonn and Ruth, noting that past history can sometimes play a positive role if both parties have worked through previous issues. “Eamonn and Ruth have a history, and sometimes that can work in your favour if both have worked through past issues,” Jensen explained. He cautioned, however, that a successful reunion would require genuine forgiveness and a commitment to rebuilding trust.

For now, Ruth seems focused on her work and spending time with loved ones, including her dog, Maggie, whom she and Eamonn adopted in 2011. Sharing a recent moment from a rainy walk with her dog, Ruth posted, “Walking in the rain with the one I love!”
