Dancing on Ice Bombshell: Chelsee Healey’s Secret Boyfriend Is a Convicted Drug Dealer
TV star Chelsee Healey’s emotional journey on Dancing on Ice had a shocking behind-the-scenes twist that no one saw coming. The actress, best known for her roles in Hollyoaks and Waterloo Road, was silently coping with a deeply personal crisis during her time on the show — her secret partner and the father of her youngest child was on trial for drug dealing.
Now, The Sun on Sunday can reveal that the man Chelsee has kept under wraps — known publicly only as “Eddie” — is 31-year-old Eddie Rainford, a convicted drug dealer who is currently on remand at Forest Bank Prison in Greater Manchester. He pleaded guilty to supplying Class B drugs in court on January 23, just days after Chelsee’s emotional exit from the ITV competition.
While Chelsee had tried to shield her private life from public scrutiny, telling fans only bits and pieces about her struggles, she opened up after her elimination. “There has been a lot going on with me that I have been struggling with,” she admitted, hinting at the pain she was carrying off the ice.
A source confirmed the heartbreaking truth: “What Chelsee was desperately coping with while on the show was that her partner, the father of her youngest daughter, was in court for drug-dealing and has been sent to prison on remand.”
Rainford, who is now awaiting sentencing and could face up to 14 years in jail, had been in a relationship with Chelsee since 2021. The pair welcomed their daughter, Cookie, in December 2023 — three weeks early, delivered via C-section due to concerns over Chelsee’s mental health.
The actress has since ended the relationship, sources say, although she had once called it “the most supportive relationship I’ve ever been in.” She continued, “My friends and family love him, and he’s the first bloke I’ve introduced Coco to, which says a lot. I knew he was ‘The One’ within three to four months.”
Chelsee had referred to Rainford as her “husband” in an Instagram post celebrating his birthday in April last year, leading fans to speculate they had secretly tied the knot. His identity was inadvertently confirmed by her Hollyoaks co-star Richard Blackwood, who posted baby shower photos where Rainford appeared in the background.
The revelation comes in the wake of an incredibly difficult year for Chelsee. She has spoken candidly about struggling with mental health during pregnancy and suffering from post-partum depression. “I have suffered with my mental health for a long time and it hit its peak while I was pregnant,” she shared.
She also revealed that she had endured a miscarriage while competing on Dancing on Ice, adding further emotional strain. In her heartfelt exit speech, she thanked her skating partner Andy Buchanan, saying, “I honestly couldn’t have done it without him… I couldn’t completely focus — Andy knows.”
