Daisy Campbell’s Heartfelt Farewell to Emmerdale and Her Next Dream Job
0Emmerdale star Daisy Campbell is preparing for her emotional exit from the long-running ITV soap after playing the beloved character Amelia Spencer for 13 years. The actress, who was just seven years old when she landed the role in 2011, has already filmed her final scenes, which will air next week. In her farewell scenes, Amelia makes the difficult decision to move away from the village with her daughter Esther.
Ahead of her departure, Daisy shared her thoughts with Express.co.uk and other media outlets, reflecting on her time at Emmerdale and revealing her exciting plans for the future. When asked what’s next for her, the 21-year-old actress made it clear that she has big ambitions, with a particular show in mind.
“There’s so much I want to do,” Daisy said. “I really want to do Strictly, that’s something I really want to do next year because I’m a dancer.” Daisy, who has been dancing since the age of three, expressed her enthusiasm for the challenge. “I’ve been dancing since I was three but I don’t know how to do the Salsa or anything so I think that would be cool to learn”, according to the Express.
While Daisy acknowledged that she wouldn’t turn down the opportunity to appear on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, she emphasized that Strictly Come Dancing is her top choice. “I would really like to do it. I think it would be fun because you don’t know how you’re going to be in there because you have to push yourself down to what you’re eating and everything. But Strictly is like my one because I just know that I would really enjoy the experience from dancing as a kid,” she said.
Reflecting on her time on Emmerdale, Daisy revealed the emotional toll of saying goodbye to her iconic role. “I think it’s been such a tough year and I’ve had to deal with so much, but I was so at peace when leaving because I’ve grieved through it,” she explained. “I’m not only grieving for myself. I’m grieving for the character I’ve always played. This was my first ever job since the age of seven, so it felt really sad but it was nice to close the door and be at peace.”
As she looks to the future, Daisy shared that she’s open to exploring all sorts of new projects. “I would never say no to a job. I’d be open to doing anything. I’d love to do plays, new dramas or low-budget films. Literally anything,” she added. “I feel like the world’s my oyster, I’ve never known anything different so it would be cool to see how everything else works.”
