Dad Accused of Silencing 2-Month-Old Daughter with Wet Wipe Leading to Tragic Outcome

In a horrifying event that has left the community of Vero Beach, Florida, in shock, a father has been arrested for an unthinkable act against his own child. Joseph Napier, 30, is now facing grave allegations of causing his two-month-old daughter, Iris Noelle Napier, to choke by allegedly shoving a baby wipe down her throat in a tragic attempt to silence her.

The chilling incident dates back to May 2021 when a frantic 911 call was made by Napier himself. When first responders reached the scene, they were met with the harrowing sight of baby Iris ‘turning blue.’ Efforts to resuscitate the infant proved futile, and she was later declared dead at a nearby hospital, according to the Metro.

As investigators delved into the unsettling case, inconsistencies began to emerge in Napier’s account. Initially, he blamed his 18-month-old daughter for Iris’ condition. However, Sheriff Eric Flowers refuted this claim, stating that evidence indicates that only Napier could have placed the wipe deep inside Iris’ throat.

The actual timeline of events was further put into question when it was revealed that Napier might have left the children alone for nearly half an hour, in contrast to his statement of only 10 minutes.

With the grim discovery of the baby wipe lodged in Iris’ throat, leading to her tragic demise, Napier has been slapped with charges of aggravated manslaughter of a child. The bond set for his release stands at a staggering $750,000, with a court date marked for October 19.
