BTS announces comeback and new album following completion of military service
Share0Fans around the world are celebrating after BTS officially confirmed their long awaited return, ending years of anticipation and speculation. The announcement was shared by their agency, BigHit Music, and quickly sent excitement rippling through the global fanbase.
The K pop group is set to return to the spotlight after a four year hiatus, with all seven members now having completed South Korea’s mandatory military service. RM, Jin, Suga, J Hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook are finally back on the same path again, something fans have been counting down to since the group paused activities.
To mark the moment, the band confirmed that a brand new album will be released on March 20. The news was shared alongside handwritten messages posted to select members of their official fan community, BTS ARMY, adding a personal touch that resonated deeply with supporters.

In their messages, the members reflected on the long separation, the emotional weight of being apart, and their excitement about reuniting as a full group in 2026. There was a clear sense of gratitude and determination, with each member promising to make the next chapter worth the wait.
According to Korea Times, rapping leader RM, also known as Kim Nam joon, wrote, “Waiting for (this comeback) more than anyone else.” His message captured the mood of fans who have stood by the group throughout their time apart.
Jimin and J Hope echoed the same feeling, sharing the words, “the year we finally meet again,” while Suga, whose real name is Min Yoon gi, added a hopeful note by writing, “Let’s have a joyful year together!”
V also looked ahead to what is coming next, telling fans, “In 2026, we’ll make even more and even better memories together. So please look forward to it!” The message hinted at a fresh start for the group and a renewed focus on shared experiences.
Jung Kook kept things heartfelt, writing, “My heart has always been the same. I’ll keep doing my best, just as I always have.” Meanwhile, Jin reflected on his recent solo work, saying, “I’ve greeted you as a solo artist over the past two years.”
“And now I finally get to greet you again as part of the team,” his message added, underlining the significance of returning as a full group rather than individual performers, reported the Mail.
The group had already hinted at what was to come last year. During a Weverse broadcast, they announced plans to begin recording their 10th studio album in July, confirming that the wheels were already in motion behind the scenes.
They also teased what fans can expect beyond the album. “We’ll be visiting fans all around the world,” they said. “So we hope you’re as excited as we are.”
With a new album on the way, a global tour promised and all seven members back together, the countdown has officially begun. For fans, it is not just a comeback, but the return of a chapter they have been waiting years to open again.
