Bride Faces unexpected Backlash After Sharing Wedding Photos over Husband Looking Younger

Lauren Evens proudly posted her wedding photos online, eager to continue celebrating her marital bliss with the world. However, what she didn’t expect was the wave of backlash that followed, simply because her partner looked younger than her age, according to the Mirror.

“Some people said it was cute that my 10-year-old son was walking me down the aisle,” Lauren explained, referring to the fact that some online trolls mistook her wife for a child. “Others said it was disgusting that I was kissing a young boy… the comments offend me, and they are incredibly hurtful,” she told What’s The Jam, told the Express.

The confusion arose because Lauren’s wife, 29-year-old Hannah Kaye, has youthful features that often make her appear much younger than her actual age. Despite only a two-year age gap between them, Lauren found herself the target of harsh online criticism. “My wife is just very lucky to have incredible genes,” Lauren said. “She is two years younger – I am not getting arrested.”

The hurtful comments ranged from accusations of predatory behavior to outright insults. “People think they have the right to call me a predator or a paedophile, and that disgusts me,” Lauren shared. “The amount of abuse we have received is just ridiculous.”

Hannah, a specialist engineer, has always looked younger than her years and is frequently carded in supermarkets and bars despite approaching her 30s. The couple experienced an explosion of negativity after sharing their wedding photos online. “The trolls are so narrow-minded that there is no point engaging with them,” Hannah said, recounting the hurtful comments.

The backlash has also taken a toll on their families. “Our family has read those comments online, and it upsets them, too. They are very protective of us both,” Hannah explained. Despite this, she remains unfazed by the negativity, choosing to focus on their happiness instead.

Lauren and Hannah met on Tinder two years ago, and their relationship blossomed. Hannah proposed in January 2024, and they celebrated their union at a local registry office in Surrey last month. Reflecting on the hate they’ve faced online, Lauren remains defiant.

“Strangers online can say what they like, but we have never been happier,” she said. Despite the challenges, the couple is optimistic about their future together and determined not to let the negativity define their relationship.
