This Morning presenter Ben Shephard had to quickly regain his composure on Monday’s show (May 12) after a funny moment with his co-host Cat Deeley. The pair was in the middle of discussing the day’s news when things took a turn behind the scenes that had them both in fits of laughter.
The moment came after they interviewed Diversity stars Ashley Banjo, Jordan Banjo, and Perri Kiely, before introducing Jeff Brazier, who was taking over the competition duties. However, once the pre-recorded segment was airing, the hosts shared a private conversation that left them both in stitches. Ben, trying to pull himself together for the live broadcast, cheekily said, “Let’s leave that there, Cat Deeley”, reported the Mirror.
With the laughter still lingering, Ben quickly shifted gears, getting the show back on track by introducing the next segment. “Coming up, many of you will have children sitting exams this week. Linda Papadopoulos is standing by to help you manage their stress in today’s phone-in, and probably yours as well, if you’re the parent,” he said.
The rest of the episode carried on with plenty of interesting segments. Ben and Cat delved into some important topics with Gyles Brandreth and Camilla Tominey, who discussed the Prime Minister’s latest briefing on immigration. John Torode was in the kitchen, whipping up a tasty chicken traybake, while Sian Welby kept viewers updated with the latest in showbiz news, including highlights from the BAFTA TV Awards on Sunday. Beauty expert Nadine Baggott also shared her top SPF picks as the weather continues to warm up.
However, not all viewers were feeling the love for the episode. Some quickly took to X (formerly Twitter) to voice their frustration, with one saying: “#ThisMorning it is a load of nonsense though, they do chat a lot of rubbish.” Another added, “What a load of s,” and a third said, “Why do they talk about such nonsense?” A few viewers seemed to agree with the criticism, with one remarking, “Slow f** news day,” and another commenting, “Well, that was all about nothing.”
On the flip side, there were still plenty of viewers enjoying the show, with one writing, “I must say, today’s #ThisMorning is very cheerful.” Seems like, as always, This Morning has its fair share of fans and critics!
