Awkward Moment on Good Morning Britain as Beetlejuice Segment Falls Flat, Susanna Reid Returns After Family Emergency

Fans have spotted an awkward moment involving Prince Harry and Meghan Markle during Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral, when one of their former royal allies, Princess Eugenie, appeared to distance herself from the couple.

Prince Harry, 39, and Meghan Markle, 43, stepped down from their official royal duties in 2020, relocating first to Canada and then to Montecito, California, where they now reside with their two children. Since their departure, the couple has been vocal about their time as working royals, most notably in their Netflix documentary released in 2022.

While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are not on speaking terms with many members of the royal family, Harry has maintained a close bond with his cousins, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie—at least until recently. A resurfaced clip from the Queen’s funeral has sparked speculation that the relationship between Harry and Eugenie may have cooled.

In the clip, shared by a fan on X (formerly Twitter), Eugenie appears to “turn away and step back” from Meghan and Harry. The fan pointed out that Eugenie’s husband, Jack Brooksbank, also had a noticeable reaction, saying, “Jack quickly adjusts his glasses to break eye contact. You don’t see Eugenie flying out to visit anymore.”

Other viewers agreed, with one commenting, “Jack’s long stare at Harry was quite telling. No love lost there between those two.” Another added, “I read Meghan’s expression as being angry that she was ignored. No one talked to her.”

This moment has drawn attention amid ongoing speculation about Harry and Meghan’s strained relationships within the royal family. The Sussexes have largely remained distanced from the Firm since their move to the United States, and moments like this seem to suggest that even previously close relationships, like Harry’s with Eugenie, may be changing.

Meanwhile, Princess Eugenie has been making headlines for breaking royal protocol in a personal way. When her son, August Philip Hawke, was born in February 2021, Eugenie and Jack opted to announce the news in a modern fashion—via Instagram—rather than following the tradition of introducing the newborn on the hospital steps. The couple shared a sweet black-and-white photo of their firstborn, accompanied by three blue heart emojis.

As royal dynamics continue to evolve, moments like this highlight the shifting relationships within the family and raise questions about the future connections between Harry, Meghan, and their former allies.
