The Royal Family Retort Rebellious Harry’s Claims of Being “Financially Cut Off”

The royal’s fiscal reports for 2020-21 are now published.

The Royal Family smartly responded to Prince Harry’s claims that he and his wife, Meghan, were money-wise cut off in earlier 2020. The publication is made from the Sovereign Grant Report, which covers the period 2020-21.

Back in March during his interview with Oprah Winfrey, Prince Harry spoke openly about his financial situation following his step down as a working royal and said that his family “literally cut me off financially” in the first quarter of 2020.

During the interview, Harry said had left only Diana’s assets for him, which was £7 million at the time, and that “without that, we would not have been able to do this”. Then, he claimed he got Netflix and Spotify agreements so that he could pay for safety for himself and his family.

On 24th June, a senior Clarence House spokesperson has replied, saying: “As we’ll all remember in January 2020 when the Duke and Duchess announced that they were going to move away from the working royal family, the duke said that they would work towards becoming financially independent.

“The Prince of Wales allocated a substantial sum to support them with this transition. That funding ceased in the summer of last year, and the couple is now financially independent.”

The media said further Prince Harry’s remarks, the presenter said: “I wouldn’t acknowledge that they are dramatically different. All I can tell you are the facts.”

He went on to recognize the couple’s exit from the working royal family as “a matter of enormous sadness to the family” and said: “But the Prince wanted to help make this work, [and] allocated a substantial sum to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, to help them with that transition. I betray no confidence when I say they’ve been very successful in becoming financially independent.”
