Christie Brinkley Says Trump Is “Doing a Good Job” Destroying the Country
Christie Brinkley is once again speaking out against President Donald Trump, using social media to deliver a pointed critique of his policies and leadership. The 72-year-old supermodel and actress took to Instagram to repost headlines and video clips related to the administration, adding her own commentary.
In one Instagram Story, she shared a graphic highlighting a report about the rollback of coal plant limits on mercury and other toxic emissions. Responding to the headline, Brinkley wrote, “Another day, another way to destroy our health! Mercury causes deformities in babies and developmental disorders of the brain!”
She went on to stress that the dangers are not limited to children. According to Brinkley, mercury exposure also harms adults, leading to nervous system disorders and organ damage. She concluded the post with a firm statement: “THIS GREED AT OUR EXPENSE MUST STOP.”

In another post, Brinkley shared a video clip of President Trump speaking from the White House. Text over the video read, “I can do anything I want to do to them. I’m allowed to destroy the country.” The remark referred to comments Trump made during a press conference earlier this month, when he said the US Supreme Court had blocked him from imposing minor tariffs but had not stopped him from pursuing more sweeping actions.
Brinkley added her own reaction beneath the clip, writing, “And I must say he is doing a good job of destroying the country.” Her latest posts are consistent with her longstanding criticism of Trump and his administration. Following his 2024 reelection, Brinkley shared a lengthy message on Instagram expressing concern about environmental protections and climate change.
“The fate of our children’s future is in our hands. He has promised to undo every environmental protection put in place during the Biden administration on day one,” she wrote at the time. She warned, “That will make it impossible to keep climate chaos from accelerating,” adding that natural disasters and disease “will all intensify if we don’t choose our planet over profits for a handful of greedy corporations.”
Brinkley also addressed economic policy, writing, “There’s no undoing the climate change we are feeling today, but if we work together, we can slow it or even stop its devastating progression. “And we know trickle down economics is a failed concept, so don’t think that drill, Baby drill is going to make you rich. It’s more like sick, like an ill baby, ill.”

Emphasising the broader stakes, she reminded followers, “Our health is our greatest wealth, and we won’t survive without a healthy biodiverse environment.” She further noted, “nature doesn’t care if you’re Red, Blue, Black, Brown, Or White. There are no borders or walls that can protect you from the various effects of unprecedented events, and ‘100 Year Storms’ that are happening REGULARLY.”
In closing, Brinkley urged unity and collective responsibility. “We’re all in this together. So we’d better learn to get along and work together. For the sake of our children’s well-being, action is mandated. We’re all one family on the same tiny boat known as Mother Earth…and Mom is talking…she’s telling us in so many ways she can’t take much more. She’s given us her all.”
She ended with a call to action: “Let’s show her the respect she deserves. Let’s be there for her over the next four years, or she won’t be able to be there for us… she won’t have the resources to take care of all her babies anymore. So my brothers and sisters, let’s stick together, birds of a feather, and give each other and our Mother some love.”
