Prince Harry says Meghan Markle’s royal life was “absolute misery” in emotional court testimony
Prince Harry, who was quite upset, said during his trial against a UK tabloid publisher that his wife Meghan Markle’s life as a royal was “absolute misery.”
Harry, who is 41, is suing Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL), which publishes the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday, for allegedly unlawfully obtaining information.
He went to the High Court on Wednesday, when both ANL’s lawyer and his own, David Sherborne, asked him questions. Sherborne ended his questions by asking his client how the trial had made him feel.
“It’s wrong to put us through this again when all we wanted was an apology and for someone to take responsibility.” “It’s a terrible experience,” the Duke of Sussex said, trying not to cry.

“They keep coming after me.” My Lord, they have made my wife’s life a living hell. Hello! magazine said that Harry, who married Markle, 44, in May 2018, sniffled as he left the courthouse.
The prince said on the stand that his lawsuit against ANL seemed like a “recurring traumatic experience” and a “repeat of the past.”
He stated, “I have never believed that my life is open season to be commercialised by these people.” He also called the idea that he has no privacy rights “disgusting.”
The Independent reports that Harry also spoke about his prior relationship with Chelsy Davy and how the press interfered with her life.
At one point, Harry’s lawyer warned him that Mail reporters could have only learned of his prior statements about falling in love with Davy while sitting around a campfire in Botswana if someone had told them.
Harry, on the other hand, said that the information was most likely gotten when he “talked about it on a voicemail” or some other way.

Three people who don’t know each other are being given credit for the phrase. You are now trying to say that these three strangers are among my best friends. “That doesn’t make sense,” he remarked.
“These three people have never told anyone anything.” There would be a lot more out there if they had. After Harry’s testimony, his representative told Page Six, “Today’s cross-examination was weak: it was assertive in tone but fell apart right away when Prince Harry looked at it.”
Associated couldn’t wait to get him off the stand. They just asked him questions for two hours and skipped over ten of his fourteen articles. Harry also told us, “Today we reminded the Mail Group who is on trial and why.”
Harry was asked to testify sooner than he thought he would be. He was meant to take the stand on Thursday, but ANL’s lawyer finished the opening statements on Wednesday earlier than planned.

A source close to Harry said that ANL’s lawyers were “playing games and using dirty tricks,” and that they “have had months to tell the court that their opening argument would last less than two hours.”
The insider went on to say, “They think that by moving the schedule up by 24 hours, they are giving Prince Harry less time to prepare, but he has been getting ready for this moment for the last three years.” It’s safe to assume that he’s ready.
One reason Harry and Markle quit their royal roles and relocated their family to the US in 2020 was the overwhelming media attention and criticism they received.
