Trump’s Granddaughter Kai Shares Behind-the-Scenes Look at White House Christmas Party

Kai Trump is giving followers a rare glimpse into Christmas at the White House, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the Trump family’s holiday traditions in Washington, DC. The 18-year-old, who is the eldest daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and his ex-wife Vanessa Trump, documented her recent trip from Florida to the nation’s capital to attend President Donald Trump’s annual White House Christmas party.

Kai has quickly built a large online following, regularly posting lifestyle content for her 1.39 million followers across social media platforms. In a vlog posted to her YouTube channel, Kai captured nearly every step of the experience, from traveling aboard her grandfather’s private jet to walking through the White House and attending the festive reception.

The video opened with scenes from the flight, where she showed off the interior of the Trump Fleet jet, which had been decorated with small Christmas trees for the holiday season. Once in Washington, Kai filmed a guided walk-through of the White House alongside her grandfather and other family members, as per Daily Mail.

During the tour, President Trump stopped to point out a statue featuring the face of Abraham Lincoln. “I got this from the East Wing. This came out of the East Wing, the famous East Wing,” he said. “This looks good, doesn’t it, here? The same man who did the Mount Rushmore.”

The East Wing was demolished in October to make way for a new 90,000-square-foot state ballroom, a project estimated to cost $200 million. Kai also highlighted other updates throughout the White House, including a new gold sign above the Oval Office doorway. Reacting to the change, she remarked, “The gold looks nice,” prompting Trump to respond, “Very nice.”

The vlog continued with footage from the holiday reception, giving viewers a sense of the atmosphere inside the White House during the celebration. Kai briefly captured her grandfather delivering remarks to guests, during which he mentioned U.S. Open champion Bryson DeChambeau, who thanked the president for his work over the past year.

Kai also focused on the holiday decorations, showing Christmas trees lining the Cross Hall, adorned with red and gold ornaments. She revealed that guests could enjoy a hot chocolate bar and even meet Santa Claus. Earlier this month, the Office of the First Lady announced that this year’s holiday theme is “Home Is Where The Heart Is,” designed to honor the upcoming 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

Viewers also noticed that Kai’s mother, Vanessa, joined her for the trip and attended the festivities, despite her 2018 divorce from Donald Trump Jr. Many praised the family dynamic in the comments, applauding the decision to include her in the celebrations. The vlog ended with a personal update, as Kai shared that she has officially accepted a position at the University of Miami, where she will compete in collegiate golf.
