Miley Cyrus’ dad wins legal battle over strange adoption claim
Billy Ray Cyrus is putting his foot down after a bizarre court case where a woman claimed she was the real mother of pop star Miley Cyrus. The country music star didn’t just deny the wild allegations but is now demanding the woman cough up thousands to cover his legal fees.
As reported by Us Weekly, Cyrus is looking to be reimbursed for $7,564.13, which he says he spent defending himself in court after Jayme Lee filed a lawsuit against him earlier this year. The case has since been dismissed, but Billy Ray clearly isn’t letting it slide.

Back in May, Lee launched the lawsuit, insisting she was actually Miley’s biological mum. According to her, there was some sort of “agreement with [Billy Ray] regarding the adoption of the child.” She even went so far as to claim she got to choose Miley’s name and kept working as her nanny.

Lee alleged she handed Miley over to Billy Ray, but said he later “subsequently took the child and wrongfully assumed the role of the child’s father without [Lee’s] consent.” Yes, really.
Cyrus wasn’t having any of it. On November 11, he formally shot down the claims, calling them “false and absurd.” The judge clearly agreed, throwing out the case entirely.

Now, Billy Ray’s asking the court to make Lee pay him back for the hassle. After being dragged into what he sees as a completely baseless legal drama, he wants his $7,564.13 back.
It’s not clear yet whether the court will order Lee to pay up, but one thing’s certain – Billy Ray Cyrus isn’t taking wild accusations lying down.
