‘I lead Trump by 16 points’: Jimmy Kimmel Roasts Trump Over Disastrous Approval Ratings

Jimmy Kimmel just dropped some brutal truths on Donald Trump, and the White House is already firing back.

In a recent segment, Kimmel shared the results of a new poll showing his approval rating is 44%, while Trump’s sits at a dismal 41%. Kimmel wasted no time making a dig. “I lead Trump by 16 points,” he quipped, “I’m at plus three, he’s at minus 13.”

But Kimmel, ever the self-deprecating comedian, wasn’t done. He pointed out that despite his high approval, he still thought his rating should be even better. “Considering the fact that I’m not a convicted felon, a friend of Jeffrey Epstein, and I’ve never paid off a porn star or sent a team of masked goons into a park to pull an old lady away from her grandchildren… I feel like my rating should be higher, maybe even?” Kimmel joked. “At this point, finding a toenail in your salad has a seven-point lead over Donald Trump.”

As you’d expect, Kimmel didn’t just throw out those numbers for fun. He knows Trump’s been firing shots at him for years. The president reportedly tried to have Kimmel’s show censored during his first term. When Kimmel was suspended last month, Trump couldn’t help but gloat—then threw a tantrum when Kimmel’s show returned to the airwaves.

So, naturally, Kimmel had to poke the bear. “I hope he doesn’t see this,” Kimmel said with a grin. “You know I don’t like to upset him, but I think he might be upset.”

In true Kimmel fashion, the late-night host couldn’t resist adding another jab at Trump. The White House wasn’t thrilled with the poll results, and they quickly responded with a statement: “77 million Americans voted for Trump in last year’s election,” a spokesperson said, reminding everyone about Trump’s base. “Jimmy Kimmel prays every night to garner a fraction of that support to keep his show on air after ratings dropped 64 percent last week. Sad!”

Kimmel, of course, found the “Sad!” part especially amusing. “It would make a nice T-shirt with Trump’s face on it, wouldn’t it?” Kimmel quipped, imagining a new merch line. “You know what else is sad? That the president of the United States has a lower approval rating than Diddy and diarrhea. That’s what’s sad.”
