Julie Goodyear finally sells leopard print mansion after heartbreaking health battle
Julie Goodyear has officially sold her famous leopard-print-filled mansion in Greater Manchester, letting go of the place she called home for years as she continues her battle with dementia. The Coronation Street legend, best known for her role as Bet Lynch, put the property on the market last October for £1.5 million, reported the Sun.
The quirky four-bedroom farmhouse in Heywood caught plenty of attention for its bold, unmistakable interior – leopard print everywhere, from rugs to armchairs and even a stuffed leopard toy on the sofa. But after months on the market and two price cuts, the 82-year-old actress accepted an offer around £1.3 million – a solid £200,000 less than her original asking price.
Julie shared the home with her husband, Scott Brand, and the pair made the tough decision to sell as her health began to decline. She publicly revealed her dementia diagnosis last June, and her family explained the move was part of helping her live more comfortably.
At first, she lowered the price to £1.4 million, but when it still didn’t sell, it was relisted again for offers over £1.3 million in December. Now, it’s finally found a buyer, marking the end of an era for the iconic actress and the unforgettable home she poured her personality into.
Despite the challenges, Julie has kept her spirits up. When she shared news of her diagnosis, she said she was “living a good life,” and her loved ones continue to support her through it. The sale of the mansion might be bittersweet, but it’s another step towards giving her the care and comfort she deserves.
