Harry and Meghan’s Appeal Diminishes After ‘Flogging’ Royal Family Secrets, Claims Columnist

Prince Harry has received unexpected support from a prominent columnist who believes the royal has been dealt a rough hand in 2024. Michael Deacon, Columnist and Assistant Editor for The Telegraph expressed his sympathy for Harry and Meghan in a recent piece, acknowledging the tough year the couple has faced.

In his article, Deacon posed the question, “Is anyone else starting to feel sorry for Harry and Meghan?” He continued, “All right, so they may be tedious, cloying, talentless, whiny, and insufferably sanctimonious. But just look at what a rotten 2024 the poor things have had.”

Deacon highlighted how the couple’s public image has suffered amidst various setbacks, stating, “Everything seems to be falling apart,” for the Sussexes, with each of their endeavors facing hurdles. From the delayed launch of Meghan’s lifestyle brand, which encountered trademark issues, to Prince Harry’s documentary about polo, which received critical reviews, it seems the couple has been struggling to regain their footing.

Deacon also pointed out the significant challenge they now face: the uncertainty of securing a renewed Netflix contract after their current one expires. Adding to their difficulties, Deacon noted that even their previous supporters seem to be turning on them.

He referenced a piece from The Cut, which carried the “witheringly headlined” critique, “Harry and Meghan’s projects can’t stop flopping.” Deacon delved deeper into the couple’s woes, suggesting that they must be aware of the root cause of their troubles.

“No matter how preeningly narcissistic the couple may seem, surely even they must now have realized what the source of their woes is?” he remarked. His conclusion was stark: “People were only interested in hearing what Harry and Meghan had to say when they were dishing the dirt on the Royal family.” With their royal secrets now exhausted, Deacon pointed out, “They’ve got nothing that anyone wants.”

As 2024 continues to unfold, the Sussexes face a series of professional and personal challenges, leaving many to wonder what the future holds for their brand and public influence.
