Good Morning Britain Announces Mid-Winter Energy Price Hike Amid Busy Show

Good Morning Britain paused its regular programming today to deliver breaking news about an upcoming increase in energy prices.

Ranvir Singh, the news anchor on the ITV breakfast show hosted by Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley, announced: “Homes can expect a mid-winter energy price hike, forecasted to jump by one percent in January. Energy analysts Cornwall Insights said that it expects Ofgem to reveal on Friday that the typical household energy bill will rise to £1,736 per year from New Year’s Day. It previously predicted a one percent fall and has blamed supply concerns for a volatile market”, reported by the Mirror.

A breaking news banner appeared on the screen as Ranvir explained the changes, which will impact households across the UK. She concluded the update by directing viewers to local news on the ITV and STV websites before handing over to the weather segment.

Elsewhere on today’s show, Good Morning Britain reported on a theft at Windsor Castle estate, where two masked men scaled a six-foot fence and stole farm vehicles while Prince William, Kate Middleton, and their children were asleep nearby.

The show also touched on the much-anticipated return of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! on ITV. Danny Jones emerged as an early fan favorite after tackling a Bushtucker trial that left viewers in stitches. The challenge took an unexpected turn when a snake climbed up his shorts, leading hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly into fits of laughter. The campmates managed to secure five out of 10 stars, while GK Barry broke down in tears upon learning she would face the next public-voted trial.

The morning show continued with a studio interview featuring pop star Jason Derulo. The singer discussed his massive social media following and revealed that his young son often influences his music releases.

Ranvir Singh helmed the news segment for the day, a role she rotates with other presenters like Kate Garraway, Charlotte Hawkins, and Sean Fletcher. Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley anchored the main show, continuing their regular hosting schedule from Monday to Wednesday.

The packed episode kept viewers engaged with a mix of breaking news, royal updates, entertainment highlights, and celebrity interviews.
