Katie Price Faces Backlash After Revealing Her Cat ‘Disappeared’ Amid Concerns Over Animal Care

Katie Price has stirred up fresh criticism after telling fans that one of her cats simply “disappeared” and never returned, fueling ongoing concerns about her ability to care for animals. The 46-year-old mother-of-five has faced backlash over the years as several animals, including dogs, horses, and even exotic pets, have died while in her care. Recently, fans have grown worried about the welfare of her two new Sphynx kittens, fearing for their safety given her history.

Price shared the news during a social media Q&A session, responding to a fan who asked if her cats were unwell. “No, the cats aren’t sick,” she explained, according to The Sun. “Craig, Hagrid at my old house, he was like eight or nine. He just disappeared, didn’t come home one night. It’s really sad. They say cats wander off, don’t they, when they want to pop off”, according to the Mirror.

Her comments sparked dismay among followers, with some calling for her to be banned from owning animals. In fact, petitions have circulated demanding that Price be prohibited from having pets, and even animal welfare organizations have expressed outrage. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has previously condemned Price’s treatment of animals, with founder Ingrid Newkirk stating, “If there was a way to file an injunction to stop this serial animal killer, PETA would do so. This woman doesn’t care about the lives she wastes… and is still treating live animals like stuffed toys: as disposable.”

Price introduced her new kittens to fans online, acknowledging the criticism she anticipated. In a video, she cooed over the kittens, commenting on their playful antics and talking to someone off-camera, saying, “Oh, Tony. I know, I’m gonna sit down and you’re all gonna come on me. I know. I love it.” Her nonchalant tone in the video added to fans’ worries about the animals’ well-being.

Over the past six years, Price has revealed that a number of her pets have died under her ownership, including five dogs, a horse, and a chameleon named Marvin. Some fans believe her track record shows a pattern of negligence, prompting calls for action to protect her pets.

Ingrid Newkirk, of PETA, further criticized Price’s treatment of animals, saying, “If William Hill took totally tasteless bets, the odds would favour those betting on how little time this kitten has on Earth, given the hideous track record of animal deaths in Price’s custody. No one could call it ‘care.’”

With her latest comments about her missing cat, Price faces renewed scrutiny and questions about her responsibility as a pet owner.
