Meghan Markle Reaches Out to Co-Star After Years Apart, Rekindling Suits Friendship

Meghan Markle has reconnected with her former Suits co-star, Patrick J. Adams, after years of limited contact, proving that some friendships endure despite life’s big changes. The Duchess of Sussex, who starred alongside Adams as the on-screen couple Mike Ross and Rachel Zane, shared a heartfelt message of support with her old friend, rekindling their connection.

Adams, now 43, reminisced about the bond he and Meghan had, particularly when he and his wife attended Meghan and Prince Harry’s royal wedding in Windsor in 2018. However, since that grand event, their communication had significantly dwindled—until recently.

In a candid moment on Reddit, while responding to fans’ questions, Adams revealed, “She leads a very different life now for obvious and important reasons. But upon hearing about the podcast, I got a lovely text, saying how excited she was for us and asking how she could help in any way. So lovely to still have that kind of support and friendship after so many years apart.”

Adams and fellow Suits star Sarah Rafferty co-host a new podcast, Sidebar, which is all about re-watching and breaking down the iconic legal drama with “special guests who played a part both in front of and behind the camera.” Given Meghan’s experience with her own podcast, Archetypes, launched on Spotify in August 2022, it’s likely she had plenty of insights to offer.

Archetypes became an award-winning series, featuring celebrity guests like Serena Williams, Mariah Carey, Andy Cohen, and Jameela Jamil. It quickly amassed over 10 million downloads before the Sussexes’ partnership with Spotify ended in 2023.

When Entertainment Weekly asked Rafferty if Meghan would make an appearance on Sidebar, Rafferty expressed her enthusiasm, saying, “Everybody’s invited. Everybody has been so supportive. It’s amazing. I’ve just been texting one of our directors, Mike Smith; Rachael Harris had some comments on our Instagram Live this morning, cannot wait for Sheila Sazs to be introduced into the show. I can’t wait to talk to Max Beesley and all the British actors that we had.”

It seems the spirit of camaraderie that characterized the Suits cast has not faded, and Meghan’s gesture highlights the enduring bonds that formed behind the scenes of the beloved show. Whether or not she makes a guest appearance on the podcast, her message shows that her connection with her Suits family remains strong, even as her life has transformed dramatically.
