Eamonn Holmes Struggles Through Simple Exercises with Mr Motivator: “A Living Nightmare”

Eamonn Holmes appeared to face a tough challenge while following along with some simple exercises on GB News this morning. The 64-year-old broadcaster was guided through a workout routine by fitness legend Derrick Errol Evans, better known as Mr Motivator, during the show. Dressed in his signature lycra, the 71-year-old fitness expert aimed to energize Eamonn and his co-host, Isabel Webster.

Mr Motivator demonstrated a series of gentle movements intended to keep the presenters active and healthy, but Eamonn visibly struggled through the routine. After completing the exercises, he let out a sigh and remarked, “It’s like a living nightmare.” Despite the challenge, Eamonn thanked Mr Motivator, joking, “We look forward to seeing you when you’re 91 instead of 71, my friend.”

Mr Motivator responded enthusiastically, suggesting he could become a regular fixture on the show. “GB News should have me come in every single morning to do five minutes before you guys come on, and that way we can get the nation moving. Movement is medicine!” Eamonn could be heard laughing and groaning in the background, still catching his breath from the workout, reported Daily Express.

Eamonn’s struggles during the exercise segment come as no surprise, given his long history of health issues. He has openly discussed his battles with chronic back pain, and in a vulnerable moment, he admitted feeling as though he’s living on “borrowed time,” referencing the fact that his father passed away at the age of 65 from a heart attack.

The former This Morning host has endured multiple health challenges over the years, including a double hip replacement and a painful bout of shingles. However, the severe back pain he began experiencing two years ago has been one of his most difficult hurdles yet.

Eamonn had resisted hip replacement surgery for decades before finally undergoing the procedure in 2016 at age 55, hoping it would alleviate his chronic pain. The surgery was necessary to relieve the unbearable hip, leg, and back pain that had significantly impacted his mobility and quality of life.

Despite his determination and efforts, which have included physiotherapy and cold showers, Eamonn’s recovery has been slow. He has expressed fears that he may never walk unaided again, admitting, “I have tried every treatment, but you go, ‘Maybe I’ll never get out of it,’ which is a harsh reality to face.”
