Dua Lipa to Headline Glastonbury 2024 Amid Rumors of Secret Coldplay Set

Glastonbury Festival is kicking off with a bang on Friday, featuring big names like Dua Lipa, who is set to become the first headliner of 2024 amid rumors that Coldplay might be playing a secret set. Thousands of eager festivalgoers have already descended on Worthy Farm since Wednesday, prepared for five days of music and mayhem, come rain or shine.

The Met Office forecasts for today predict that campers will wake up to a classic British drizzle and thick clouds. However, before Dua Lipa takes the stage, the weather is expected to clear, providing a pleasant mix of sunshine and clouds for the rest of the day.

Despite the scorching temperatures earlier in the week, festivalgoers experienced cooler, wetter weather upon their arrival. But today promises a more favorable outlook. From 6 a.m., drizzle and clouds will greet the early risers, with temperatures around 14°C. By 7 a.m., a light rain shower will pass through, and the sun will start to break through the clouds. By 8 a.m., the rain will lessen, and festivalgoers can expect intermittent sunshine, told Express.

The Met Office forecast indicates that these conditions will continue until around 10 a.m. when the cloud cover will dissipate, and the rain will stop entirely. The festival site will then enjoy a mix of sunshine and clouds up to midday, with dark grey clouds returning briefly. However, by 4 p.m., the sunshine is expected to dominate, making for a bright and enjoyable evening.

Daytime temperatures are set to peak at 18°C by 2 p.m., falling to 11°C overnight into Saturday. The Met Office forecast for Somerset reads: “Today will see a mixture of sunny spells, patchy cloud, and the odd light shower in the morning. In the afternoon, any showers will clear, and most patches of cloud too, leaving plenty of sunshine. After plenty of late sunshine this evening, tonight will continue with clear skies to start. Later on, areas of cloud will drift in from the west for some.”

As the festival kicks off, music fans can look forward to a day of fantastic performances from some of the world’s biggest and best musicians. While the weather might bring a few showers, the overall outlook is promising for those ready to dance the day away at one of the most iconic music festivals in the world. And with the possibility of a surprise Coldplay set, excitement is sure to be at an all-time high.
