Prince of Wales Photographed with Danish Royals at Euros ‘May the Best Team Win’

Prince William, a long-time football fan, was photographed alongside King Frederik X of Denmark and Princess Josephine of Denmark during the UEFA Euro 2024 match between England and Denmark. The trio’s picture, taken in the stands, was shared on the Wales’ official X account shortly after the match kicked off, accompanied by the caption: “May the best team win.”

William, who turns 42 on Friday, was seen laughing with King Frederik in the crowd, and the two were also filmed having an enthusiastic conversation. The Prince of Wales donned a suit and striped tie, while Frederik opted for an open-collar white shirt and blazer, both blending formality with casual cheer at the Frankfurt Arena in Germany, via Daily Mail.

The match itself was eventful. England’s Harry Kane scored the opening goal, putting England 1-0 ahead after just 18 minutes. However, Morten Hjulmand leveled the score for Denmark with a low strike from 30 yards. The game ended in a 1-1 draw, keeping the excitement alive for both teams.

Besides interacting with the Danish royals, William was also seen shaking hands with UEFA Treasurer David Gill, showcasing his active involvement in the football community. A passionate Aston Villa fan, William had previously presented shirts to the England men’s squad before their departure to Germany, making a surprise visit to St George’s Park, England’s national football center in Burton upon Trent.

Notably absent from the event was the Princess of Wales, who is currently away from public duties as she continues her treatment for cancer. On Wednesday, William joined Kate’s parents at Royal Ascot, along with other royals, including the Queen.

Princess Kate, 42, recently provided an update on her health, revealing in a statement last Friday that she is making “good progress” in her treatment. However, she candidly acknowledged having “good days and bad days,” emphasizing that while she has been working from home, she is “not out of the woods yet.”

In March, Kate announced her battle with cancer in an emotional video message, sharing the news of her treatment with the public. Despite her current challenges, her resilience and determination continue to inspire many.

As Prince William continues to support his family and fulfill his royal duties, his appearance at the UEFA Euro 2024 match, especially his interactions with the Danish royals, highlights the strong bonds and shared passions that transcend borders. This event not only underscores his love for football but also reflects the broader, more personal connections within European royalty.
