Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at Odds Over Key Decision for Archie and Lilibet, Says Public Relations Expert

Prince Harry harbors a deep desire for his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to accompany him on visits to the UK, to foster a strong bond between them and King Charles. This wish reflects Harry’s aspirations for his children to maintain a meaningful connection with their royal heritage and family members in Britain.

Despite Harry’s intentions, Meghan Markle, his wife, reportedly does not share the same enthusiasm for returning to the UK. Now comfortably settled in the US, Meghan appears to have little inclination to revisit her husband’s homeland, either temporarily or on a more permanent basis. This divergence in desires between Harry and Meghan has been highlighted by royal commentators, adding another layer of complexity to the couple’s post-royal life.

Lynn Carratt, a public relations expert, weighs in on the situation, suggesting that Meghan’s reluctance to return to the UK extends to any form of relocation, whether full-time or even on a part-time basis. Carratt’s insights point to a fundamental difference in perspective between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex regarding their future engagements with the UK.

“I suspect Harry would like to grow his children’s relationship with King Charles,” she told The Mirror. “Harry has previously spoken about ensuring his children know about their British heritage and wants to ensure they understand their legacy.”

“And now the kids are a little bit older and easier to travel with, I am certain Archie and Lillibet will be making more frequent visits to the UK,” the expert added.

As for Meghan Markle, the expert said the Duchess of Sussex would not be happy “settling” in the UK after previously struggling living in the country,

“Being part of the British monarchy was out of her comfort zone,” she said, noting that “public opinion of the Duchess of Sussex in Britain has fallen to an all-time low, according to a YouGov survey.”

This internal dynamic within the Sussex family is further illuminated by Prince Harry’s own words during an interview with Good Morning America. In the interview, Harry expressed his intention to “visit his family in the UK as much as possible,” indicating a personal commitment to maintaining familial ties despite the geographical and, perhaps, the emotional distance that has grown since their move to the US.

As Prince Harry contemplates more frequent trips to the UK, potentially even without the company of his wife, questions arise about the implications for the Sussexes’ family dynamics and their relationships with the broader royal family. The situation encapsulates the ongoing balancing act faced by Harry and Meghan as they navigate their roles and responsibilities within the royal context and their chosen life in the United States.

The narrative surrounding the Sussexes’ connection to the UK and their royal ties continues to evolve, reflecting the complexities of their public and private lives. As they chart their course forward, the couple’s decisions regarding travel, residency, and family relationships remain a focal point of public and media attention, symbolizing broader themes of identity, heritage, and personal autonomy within the context of royal obligations and expectations.
