Woman Detained as Missing London Children Discovered in Essex

Following the discovery of two children missing from a family evaluation center in London, a woman has been taken into custody. They were found in Essex.

Jamie-Leigh Kelly, aged 31, departed from the facility, catering to at-risk mothers and their children in north-west London, with her three-year-old girl and infant son last Tuesday, as stated by the Metropolitan Police.

The children were traced to a residence in Harwich by Sunday.

Scotland Yard has announced: “We have ceased our appeal for details regarding Jamie-Leigh Kelly.”

The kids were immediately placed under police care and subsequently taken to a hospital for safety measures.

Later on Sunday, a woman of 31 years of age presented herself at an east London police station. She was apprehended and sent to a hospital for precautionary evaluation, confirmed a spokesperson from Scotland Yard.

In addition, a woman, aged 63, was arrested at the Essex location on Sunday on charges of suspected child kidnapping, aiding a perpetrator, and obstructing the path of justice. Currently, she is being held at an east London police precinct.

In relation to the ongoing probe, two individuals have been indicted, according to the Met.

Ashley Hawkins, 52, from Alex Guy Gardens, Dagenham, and Jordan Hardy, 30, from Connor Road, Dagenham, are scheduled to be presented before the Southend Magistrates’ Court in Essex come Monday. Both face charges of abducting two children.
